RoughRiders exploded for 5 goals in 3rd period to topple Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders scored five unanswered goals in the third period to rally past the Sioux Falls Stampede, 7-3, Friday night at Sanford PREMIERE Center.
Sioux Falls scored twice in the first 3:35 of the third to take a 3-2 lead. But it was all Cedar Rapids from there.
Mitch Reinke and Ross Colton had goals 34 seconds apart to put the Riders back on top, 4-3. Luke Morgan and Liam Walsh followed with markers, making it four goals in 5:10.
Justin Cole provided the final margin with a goal with 6:04 left.
Colton had two goals and an assist for the Riders. Hugh McGing also had a goal.
Cedar Rapids hosts Green Bay on Saturday night at 7:05.
