Colleen Jean Vesely, 91, of Williamsburg, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at the North English Care Center. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, at First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg, with the Rev. Daniel Jessop officiating. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation:
4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Colleen is survived by two sons, Tom (Sandy), Council Bluffs, and John (Gerri), Dubuque; two daughters, Ellen Folkmann of Williamsburg and Mary Sue (Larry) Hopp of Conroy; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian Mann of Clive and Eunice O'Neil of West Branch; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Campbell of Tiffin; and a brother-in-law, Ray Vesely of Bellingham, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jennie Wagner Gorvin; her husband, Ed "Bud" Vesely Jr., in 2004; a daughter, Barbara; a son, William, in infancy; a son-in-law, Larry Folkmann; two brothers, Everett and Emory; and five sisters, Irma, Lela, Grayce, Lenore and Dorothy.
A special thank-you to Highland Ridge, English Valley Care Center and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for the excellent care given to Colleen during her stay with them.
