Duane Allen Thompson, 60, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Oakwood Nursing & Rehab Center in Albia.
He was born Feb. 6, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, to Elwood O. and Billie Wyatt Thompson. A graduate of Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Duane served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt and later in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
Surviving are his mother, Billie Thompson of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Nita (Greg) Fulton of London, Ky., and Teressa (Jim) Strader of Oolagah, Okla.; three brothers, Kenneth (Jackie) Thompson of San Angelo, Texas, Doug (Joy) Thompson of Orlando, Fla., and Marvin (Sandy) Thompson of Cedar Rapids; six nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Thompson.
Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Monday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bloomfield.
