Loren R. "Shorty" Sullivan, 90, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016.
Loren Ray "Shorty" Sullivan was born June 5, 1926, in Benton County, Iowa, the son of Leo and Lelia Nabholz Sullivan. He graduated from Rowley High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947 until his honorable discharge. Loren "Shorty" Sullivan was united in marriage to Lorna Ives-May in 1953. The farmed in Buchanan County all their married lives.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lorna; 10 children, Patricia (Dennis) Franck, Diana Carlson, Michael Sullivan, Carla Sullivan, Karen Copeland, Gail (Brian) Fuller, Thomas Sullivan, Mary Sullivan, Brian Sullivan and Katherine (Rick) Ratchford; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Don Sullivan and Clarence Sullivan.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Vaughn, Marlin and Dean; sister, Maxine Wilson; and one granddaughter, Morgan Blanton.
Private memorial services and burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Condolences and memorials may sent to his family at 2739 275th St., Winthrop, IA 50682.
