Marilyn Scott, 94, of Wabasha, Minn., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, in Wabasha. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held one hour before the service Friday at the chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marilyn was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Norway, Iowa, the daughter of Mernie and Judith (Tow) Dyrland. She married Ernest Scott on March 29, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Marilyn's patience, faith, family values and selflessness made her a truly beautiful woman, wife, sister, aunt, niece and friend to many.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, David (Marlene) of Chandler, Ariz.; her niece, Renee (Mike Johnston) Parcheta of Wabasha; and a nephew, Dennis (Cynthia) Duda of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to Cedar Valley Humane Society.
