Mary Ann Nelson, 75, of Marion, formerly of Plymouth and Mountain Home, Ark., went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at The Birdhouse Hospice Home of Johnson County in Iowa City.
Mary Ann was born June 19, 1943, in rural Osage, Iowa, to Glenn and Clyll (Wilder) Decklever. Mary Ann graduated from Osage High School. In 1964, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gary Erling Nelson.
They were blessed with two daughters, Shawna and Angela (Jeffrey Wilson). Survivors also include four brothers, Dale (Carol) Decklever, David (Darlene) Decklever, Kenny (Pat) Decklever and Don (Sue) Decklever; her sister, Glenda Bahnsen; three grandchildren, Chelsey (Dr. Kent Cabatingan), Garet (Samantha) and Greysen Germundson; great-grandson, Jaxon; and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2014; her brother, Dean; and in-laws, Obert and Lola Nelson.
In accordance with her wishes, a family committal service will be held at a later date at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery in rural Osage.
