Nelson, Marian M.
Marian M. Nelson, 90, of Independence, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the Buchanan County Long Term Care Center, Independence.
She is survived by seven children, Judy (Keith) Roberts and Margaret Ownby, both of Independence, Patricia Nelson, Eugene, Ore., Connie Harris, Cedar Rapids, Douglas Nelson, St. Petersburg, Fla., Dean (Malia) Nelson, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Brian (Leslie) Nelson, Fletcher, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Nelson in 2011; two daughters, Jane Boies and Sharon Thompson; a grandchild; two sisters, Grace Nelson and Edna Adams; and a brother, Dale Kress.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Independence, with the Rev. John Hougan officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence. Private interment services will be at Rowley Cemetery, Rowley.
