MARILYN CONREY
West Liberty
Marilyn Conrey, 77, of West Liberty, passed away March 21, 2017, at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty, after a three-year courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Community Center in West Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Iowa City Hospice, Simpson Memorial Home or Muscatine Humane Society.
Marilyn Yvonne Shafer was born Feb. 3, 1940, in Newton, Iowa, to Gerald E. and Arlene Shafer. Marilyn graduated in 1958 from Newton High School, where she met her husband, James Conrey. They married Feb. 4, 1958, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Marilyn is survived by her mother, Arlene Crocker, 95, of Newton; her husband of 59 years, Jim Conrey; a daughter, Pam Wever of West Liberty; a son, James (Annette) Conrey of Huntley, Ill.; grandsons, Devin Wever of Ely, Jacob (Autumn) Burroughs of West Liberty and Alex Conrey of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren, Ashton and JayLyn Burroughs of West Liberty.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Bernard Crocker; biological father, Gerald Shafer; grandfather and grandmother, Earl and Carmen Schrull, and Earl Nelson, all of Newton.
