LORRIE TIMMERMAN

Lorrie Rae Timmerman, 49, of Marion, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at her home following a brief and brave battle with cancer. Celebration of Life: 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Lowe Park, Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Roberta (Roger) Altes of Marion; children, Daltyn, Dakota and Desirae Timmerman, all of Marion; sister, Debbie (Larry) Dyslin of Cedar Rapids; brother, Dwight G. Plate III of Cedar Rapids; stepsiblings, Pam Plate of Oregon, Cindy (Evan) Wilkinson of California and Jeff (Deb) Plate of Chicago; friend, Curtis Hinders; niece and nephews, Dan and David Rempt, Danielle Rich and Justin Dwight Plate; and her great-niece and great-nephew, Nyleigha and D.J.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dwight; and grandmother, Twila Holland.
Lorrie was born Feb. 15, 1966, the daughter of Dwight Jr. and Roberta (Holland) Plate. She graduated from Alburnett High School. Lorrie married Allan Duane Timmerman on Nov. 10, 1990, in Alburnett. While raising her family, Lorrie was a stay-at-home mom. She also worked at Sally's Beauty Supply and McKession Drug. Most recently, Lorrie was working at Emerson School as a one-on-one associate with children in the special education program. She took great pride in her work and cared greatly for the children.
Lorrie was a member of Alburnett Methodist Church.
Lorrie loved to be outdoors in the sun and near the water. She enjoyed camping, spending time on the beach and was a terrific swimmer. If she was indoors, Lorrie liked to shop and was always seeking a bargain.
Lorrie had a wonderful personality and many friends. She put everyone before herself and was a very caring person. More than anything, Lorrie loved her family dearly.
She will be greatly missed.
