RICHARD "DICK" E. MCMULLEN

Richard "Dick" E. McMullen, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday, May 27, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital. Private graveside burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Molly McMullen, Kenneth (Kathy) Volz and Jon (Sue) Volz; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma; daughter, Kenalie Holman; three sisters; and a brother.
Dick was born Dec. 31, 1927, the son of Eldon and Bernice (Wolf) McMullen in Cascade, Iowa. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. On Nov. 15, 1952, Dick was united in marriage to Emma Mrstik in Cedar Rapids. She died Oct. 12, 2009.
Dick worked at Square D for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes.
