Bordwell, Marjorie Catherine

Marjorie Catherine Bordwell, 92, of Vinton, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton, with Father Ardel Barta as celebrant. Inurnment will be at 12:30 p.m. in St. Michael's Cemetery, Norway.

Marjorie was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Norway, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Beyer) Holland. She graduated from Norway High School in 1936.

In November 1942, Marjorie was united in marriage with James Bordwell. The couple resided in Vinton, where Jim was a cabinet maker.

Marjorie enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening, sewing and knitting.

Marjorie is survived by two brothers, Harold Holland of San Diego, Calif., and Creighton Holland of Belle Plaine; one sister, Geraldine (Ivan) Smith of De Funiak Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and one sister.
