Tiamo Blackcloud and Andrew Tuttle are charged with robbing a man early today near Coe College.
Daniel Stern, 20, told police he was walking along the 300 block of College Drive NE shortly before 3 a.m. when he was approached by Blackcloud and Tuttle, police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said. They talked briefly, then Blackcloud and Tuttle asked for money.
When Stern showed he didn't have any cash, the two men took his personal belongings and ran off. Police found Blackcloud and Tuttle nearby. The pair didn't show a weapon, according to the police report.
Charged with second-degree robbery, both men remain in the Linn County Jail. Bail for Tuttle, of Walford, is set at $25,000 cash. Blackcloud, of 1322 Second Ave. SW, is held without bail.
Police responded to a report of a robbery Thursday night at Alexandra Apartments, 4419 First Ave. SW. The residents said that three men forced their way into the apartment and showed a gun. The intruders took items worth $1,600. (Justine Scattarelli/The Gazette)
