Margaret J. "Marne" Risdon, 92, of Marengo, died Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo. Funeral service: 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26, Victor Baptist Church, Victor, with the Rev. Dan Andrews officiating. Burial: 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ohio Cemetery, rural Ladora. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the church
Memorials may be designated to For the Nations Refugee Outreach, c/o Victor Baptist Church. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Gary) Turner of Birmingham, Ala., Vicky (Alan) Grimm of North English, Coreen Baerg of Williamsburg, James (Becky) Risdon of Marengo and Shelley (Kenny) Folkmann of Marengo; 17 grandchildren, Bart and Heath Turner, Tiffany Pierce, Jon and Doug Grimm, Camia Post, Andy, Danielle, Tom and Josh Baerg, Sarah, Matt and Megan Risdon, and Jason, Tyler, Ryan and Nate Folkmann; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are a brother, Fred Madison of Eagle Grove; and three sisters, Marian Freeman of Plattsburg, Mo., Joann Gillespie, Chatfield, Minn., and Donnarae Cranston of Grundy Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucy Farmer Madison; her husband, C. Dale Risdon; a brother, James Madison; and two sisters, Arleen Danskin and Berniece Mohr.
The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Rose Haven Nursing Home and Essence of Life Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that was provided to Mom during her time in their care.
