Cedar Rapids is the fourth-best city in the United States for St. Patrick's Day celebrations, according to the Web site WalletHub.
Buffalo, N.Y. was the top-rated city for St. Patrick's Day festivities, followed by Madison, Wis., Boston and Cedar Rapids.
The site used four criteria to rank celebrations - St. Patrick's Day traditions, costs, safety and accessibility, and St. Patrick's Day weather. Cedar Rapids ranked first for safety and 14th for traditions, but only 69th for costs and 150th for weather.
The highlight of Cedar Rapids' festivities, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, begins at 1 p.m. Friday in downtown Cedar Rapids. Organized by SaPaDaPaSo, the St. Patrick's Day Parade Society, the parade has been held every March 17 since 1976. More details about the parade are available here.
