Stanton, Lorraine
Lorraine Stanton, 79, of Edgewood, formerly of Cable and La Crosse, Wis., died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Private family memorial services were held at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood, with the Rev. Kenton Troyer officiating. Inurnment: Green Hill Cemetery, Edgewood.
Lorraine was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Williams, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Goodrich) McLaughlin. She received her education in Webster City, Iowa. On Nov. 24, 1951, she was united in marriage to Gene Stanton. Lorraine was employed at Rusk Pharmacy and Lee's China Shop in Webster City. Later, she was an activity director at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
Lorraine loved to travel and meet people. She also enjoyed camping. Lorraine also loved to golf and fish with her husband Gene.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gene of Edgewood; son, Charles (Deborah) Stanton of Henderson, Nev.; daughter, Rebecca (Mark) Stevens of Owatonna, Minn.; daughter, Lorry Stanton of Iowa City; daughter, Sandra (Carl “Duke”) Wegmann of Edgewood; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
