Carl Williams died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at his home. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Alan Paris will officiate at the service. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29.
Survivors include his four sons, Rick Williams of Marion, Jim (Sara) Williams of Florida and Daniel (Robbin) Pierce and Mark Pierce, both of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Judy Williams of Cedar Rapids and Carla Heath of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Ann Williams of Melbourne, Fla., and Sandy (Ed) Lunkley of New London; brothers, Kenny (Pat) Williams and Jerry (Linda) Williams, both of Ottumwa, and Donald (Doris) Williams of Cascade.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol (2008); and two brothers, Clint and Clifford.
Carl was born April 14, 1938, in Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of James and Silvia Williams. On May 2, 1986, Carl and Carol Van Houten were united in marriage in Central City. Carl worked for the Cedar Rapids school system as a custodian.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
