Helen Rose Sullivan, 60, of Loveland, Colo., passed away May 16, 2014, in Albuquerque, N.M.
She was born April 22, 1954, in Indianapolis, to Charles and Helen (Sheehan) McDowell. Helen grew up in Indiana and graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. She met Gerry Sullivan while he was attending the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Tech-nology. They married in 1987 in Belen, N.M.
Gerry and Helen lived in New Mexico for 20 years, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 13 years and moved to Loveland, Colo., eight years ago.
She loved rocks and minerals and also hunting for them.
Helen had a great love of music. She and Gerry enjoyed traveling all over the country going to concerts. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Helen was such an outgoing person; she made a close friend everywhere she went. She enjoyed people and animals very much and was a free spirit.
Helen is survived by her mother; husband, Gerry, of over 25 years; her brothers, Tim, Bob, Kevin, Dennis and Anthony McDowell; her sisters, Judith Tansey, Teresa Donahue and Maureen Broaddus; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her father.
A viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Following the reception, the interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Berthoud, Colo.
