Dahl, Kenneth L.
Kenneth L. Dahl, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.The Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda; daughters, Debra (Grant) Grimm, Vicky (Terry) Osten and Cindy (Scott) Bowser, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Lisa Osten, Patrick Osten, Kate Grimm and Adam Osten, all of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Dorothy Williams of Cedar Rapids, Carol Baker of Tipton, Janice Townsend of Cedar Rapids, and Marilee Dinc of Alabama; brothers, Dick Dahl of Cedar Rapids, Rudy Ulferts of Marshalltown, Harold (Sam) Ulferts of Alabama, George (Darlene) Ulferts of Central City, Allen Ulferts of Cedar Rapids, and Ernie (Barb) Ulferts of Sioux City; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and very close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lyle and David.
Ken was born April 6, 1940, in Iowa City, the son of Ernest L. and Dorothy E. (Barlow) Dahl. He was united in marriage to Linda Boxwell on Feb. 18, 1960 in Tipton, Iowa, at First Methodist Church. He was the owner and operator of Ken Dahl Auto, since establishing his business in 1969. He loved all aspects of cars, his most loved cars being his many Corvettes. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling to car shows and auctions. Above all his greatest enjoyment was time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed.
