Nohre, Kathleen F.
Kathleen F. Nohre, 80, of Hiawatha Care Center, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center following a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday at All Saints Catholic Church by Rev. David O'Connor. Burial: St. John Cemetery. A vigil service with rosary to follow will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Teahen Funeral Home where friends may visit from 2 to 5 p.m. Friends may also visit after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Kathleen is survived by a daughter, Marianne M. (David) Gelski of Robins; three sons, William E., Thomas A., and Steven G., all of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Christopher D. Gelski of Robins and Samantha M. Nohre of Central City; brother, Thomas E. (Rosalie) Nugent of Knoxville, Tenn.; cousin, David Lennon of Hutchinson, Minn.; aunt, Alice Lennon of Decorah; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband, William, and son, Michael, preceded Kathleen in death.
Kathleen was born Nov. 17, 1931, in Decorah, the daughter of Edward E. and Frances (Lennon) Nugent. She married William Nohre on May 3, 1958, in Decorah. Kathleen worked for the Department of Defense as an inspector and retired in September 1995.
Kathleen loved to play cards with her card club, cook, and go to the casino. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Saint Anne's Circle, Mount Mercy Alumni, and All Saints Catholic Church.
Instead of flowers memorials may be directed to All Saints Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
