Together the couple lived in rural Norway, where they worked the family farm and Barbara made cakes out of their home. After her children were in school, she went to work for the Ox Yoke Inn in Amana, where she enjoyed working for more than 30 years.
Barbara and Ray enjoyed dancing. She liked to sew and take care of all of her houseplants. She looked forward to all the holidays, dressing up her home and herself. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren attending all of their sporting events.
