Wagner, Marguerite A.
Marguerite A. Wagner, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Queen of All Saints Chapel at All Saints Catholic Church, located at 720 29th St. SE, with Father John R. Flaherty presiding. Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Marguerite was born March 11, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank A. and Sylvia (Lillian) Vomacka. She married Clarence “Cal” Wagner on Nov. 24, 1949, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She worked for many years as a legal secretary and for the Linn County Recorder. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her yard and home. Marge was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Young at Heart and the VFW Auxiliary. The past few months she was a resident of Higley Mansion, where she shared her zest for life with everyone she encountered.
Marge is survived by a daughter, Karen Wagner of Solon; and her special friends, Jerry “Andy” and Althea Anderson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cal on Feb. 23, 2011; her brothers, George Vomacka and Joseph Vomacka; and her parents.
