Horak, Merry Jo
Merry Jo Horak, 64, entered heaven within the arms of angels on Dec. 23, 2010, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born the daughter of June and Rudy Schultschik on Nov. 20, 1946. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. On Dec. 13, 1969, she married Maroin E. Horak and gave birth to two daughters, Erin Lea Horak-Opsahl and Rebecca Jo Horak. She had four beautiful grandchildren, Cassandra DeChant and Cheyenne Horak (Rebecca's) and Chaz and Kathleen Opsahl (Erin's).
She was a loyal employee for US Corrugated and will be sadly missed by her co-workers.
Merry Jo was a beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved flowers, movies, zoos, shopping and holidays with her family. She is truly a beautiful person inside and out and the rock in our lives. She will be remembered for all her love and support and happiness she has shared with her family and friends, unselfishly giving of herself to all of us in her life. If she could say one last wish to all it would be “That at the end of the day you feel peace, and that at the beginning you feel loved; for there is only one true happiness in life, to love and be loved.”
She was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Schultschik; and daughter, Erin Lea Opshal Horak.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Mercy Medical Center and Oncology for all the comfort, hope, kindness and support. Also, thank you to her co-workers, family, and friends as well as all who have known her. Merry and her family are truly grateful to have had you in their lives, thank you. Please take comfort that she is now an angel in heaven above, free of pain and suffering, and remember her beautiful smile, sweet nature, loving heart, and how she touched each of her loved ones. She will always have fond memories in our minds and a glowing love and spirit in our hearts.
