A Hopkinton man who attempted to manufacture methamphetamine with his wife in June 2015 was sentenced Wednesday to 17 years in federal prison.
Jody Lee Davis, 47, pleaded in November to one count of attempted manufacture and aiding and abetting the attempted manufacture of methamphetamine. During the plea hearing, Davis admitted he had three prior meth-related felony convictions at the time he tried to help his wife Lisa Ann Davis manufacture meth last June.
Deputies with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested the Davises following the execution of a search warrant at their Hopkinton home on June 20, 2015.
Lisa Ann Davis, 48, was convicted by a jury in November of three methamphetamine-related charges. Her sentencing is pending.
Testimony during her trial showed she was conspiring to manufacture meth for about five years with her husband. She purchased about three boxes of pseudoephedrine per month from August 2010 to June 2015 to manufacture meth.
According to testimony, she also purchased methamphetamine supplies from various retail stores throughout Eastern Iowa.
U.S. District Chief Judge Linda Reade also ordered Jody Davis to serve a three year term of supervised release following his prison time.
