Lester J. Geiger, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center.
He was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Vinton, son of Leland J. and Lucille Babcock Geiger. He married Donna Sturch on Dec. 6, 1945, in Waterloo.
Lester was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was em-ployed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 31 years, retiring Oct. 31, 1983.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, James (Janice) and Denis, both of Waterloo, and Mark (Kathy) of Voorhies; three daughters, JoAnn Holtzman and Kathy (William) Robinson, both of Waterloo, and Donelle (Jason) Mullin of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lidia Ruth Geiger; and three brothers, Charles, Raymond and Donald.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo. Burial: Bear Creek Cemetery, Brandon, where full military rites will be conducted by USS San Diego American Legion Post 207, La Porte City. Public visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and for an hour before services at the funeral home.
