Patricia May Ceynar, 77,
of Ely, passed away
peacefully at home on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017. Funeral Mass will be at
10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow in Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Brosh Chapel & The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Patricia was born Nov. 4, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Wesley and Alma (Miller) Dostal. She married Thomas Ceynar on Aug. 11, 1983, in Cedar Rapids. Pat worked at Linn County Clerk of Court, Century Engineering and Klein Tools, where she retired in 1995.
She enjoyed being outdoors, watching and feeding her birds, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with her friends and family, especially the grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Bernie) Henderson Walther and Renee Henderson, both of Cedar Rapids; her son, Mark Henderson of Swisher; her sister, Charlotte Ehrenberger of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Ian Walther, Grayson Walther, Sydney Walther and David Bekeris; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Ceynar; her brother, Wes (Ivean) Dostal; and a brother-in-law, Russell Ehrenberger.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wilbur, the Hall-Perrine staff, Chaplain Joe Kane, as well as two hospice nurses, Marcia and Kelly, for their loving care of Pat.
