Larrabee, Everett C.
Everett C. Larrabee, 86, of Marion, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Mark Reasoner. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, where a vigil service will begin at 4 p.m. The family also will greet friends one hour before the Mass at the church on Wednesday. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors provided by American Legion Post 298 of Marion.
Survivors include his children, James (Susan) Larrabee of Lee's Summit, Mo., Albert (Dolores) Larrabee of Derry, Pa., Ronald (Lydia) Larrabee of Jacksonville, Fla., and Corinne (Dennis) Nebraska of Marion; grandchildren, Alan (Erin) Larrabee, Gordon Larrabee, David (Jennifer) Larrabee, Douglas (Candace) Nebraska, Christopher (Rosetta) Nebraska, Jennifer (David) Tiede, Denise (Douglas) Epps and Darci (C.R.) Rossi; numerous great-grandchildren; and one stepbrother, James Larrabee of Connecticut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Harmon; and one sister, Sonia.
Everett was born April 13, 1926, in Grindstone, Pa., the son of Archie and Leona (Bock) Larrabee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. Everett married Marian Frick on Dec. 31, 1947, at St. Aloysius Church in Dunbar, Pa. Marian died Oct. 10, 2011. For the majority of his life, Everett worked in the auto parts retail sales industry.
A memorial fund has been established in Everett's honor.
