Susan "Suzzi" Staab, 71, of Swisher, lost her battle with lung cancer on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Private burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; her sons, Randy (Shana) Staab of Swisher and Dusty Staab of Lisbon; six grand-children, Peyton, Colton, Keegan, Landon, Drew and Zoey; and siblings, Ken (Candy) Beaver of East Moline, Ill., Mike (Patti) Beaver of LeClaire, Iowa, and Mike Williams of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Suzzi was born July 30, 1944, the daughter of Charles and Mable (Wilkinson) Williams, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 1962 Jefferson High School graduate, she was united in marriage to Richard Staab on Sept. 17, 1966, in Cedar Rapids.
Suzzi worked at Collins Radio until 1970, then raised her family and returned to work in 1978 at Owens Brush (NKA Oral B) in Iowa City for 29 years.
She enjoyed spending the weekends at their cabin in Guttenberg and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. They were her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.
