ANN MARIE KIMM VALDEZ
Keene, Texas
Ann Marie Kimm Valdez, formerly of Norway, Iowa, passed away at her home in Keene, Texas, on June 20, 2018, after a four-month battle with cancer.
Ann was born on May 14, 1955, to Lyle and Mary Alice Kimm of Norway, who preceded her in death.
A 1973 graduate of Norway High School, Ann held the state record in the mile run for many years. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in
1977 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the university for track, cross country and basketball. She later acquired her master's degree and librarian certification. Ann's accomplishments are many, but one of her greatest was encouraging the students she worked with and taught.
She is survived by her husband, Jose; son, Caleb and fiancee Sasil Smithee; siblings, Nancy (Tom) Less, Watkins, Carma (Len) Herndon, New Braunfels, Texas, and Bruce (Debra) Kimm, Amana; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; and cousins.
A memorial service for Ann was held at La Fuente Church, Cleburne, Texas.
