Goldie Chesmore, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. No services are scheduled at this time. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Goldie was born Oct. 18, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Elwyn and Bernice (Spicer) Bell. She was a bartender at the Silver Dollar. Goldie loved to hang out with her favorite bartenders, Sonya and Billy Jo, at Rumors. She enjoyed fishing and camping but, most of all, she liked lounging by the pool with her granddaughter, Mercedes.
Survivors include her husband, Nathan Chesmore; son, Dean Otto and good friend, Heather Haas; sisters, Marie (Paul) Otto and Karen (Ray) Otto; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald "Butch" Chesmore; daughter-in-law, Terry Grimm; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Bella.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Elwyn and Paul; sister, Bonnie; brother-in-law, Terry (Shirley) Chesmore; sister-in-law, Pam Chesmore; and best friend, Patty.
