Dorothy Martin, 82, of rural Marion, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, Marion, officiated by Pastor Jon Moss. The family also will greet friends one hour prior to service at the church. Burial: Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Marion. The family requests casual attire.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Rick (Faith) Martin of Alburnett, Paula Patterson of Marion and Marilyn (Lee Johnson) Kriegel of Marion; seven grandchildren, Nick Olinger, Justin (Carrie) Martin, Brandon (Brooke) Kriegel, Elaine (Mike) Collet, Shannon Kriegel, Mattlock Martin and Mitchell Martin; and five great-grandchildren, Montana, Riggs, Braydon, Jaxson and Brady.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Delva and Cindy; one grandson, Kory; and one brother, Ray.
Dorothy was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Alburnett, the daughter of Glenn and Pauline (O'Kelly) Wagner. She graduated from Alburnett High School in 1951. In 1951, she married Paul Martin in Alburnett. They were longtime farmers in the Alburnett/Marion area. Dorothy was a member of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church and the Alburnett Historical Society.
