Ternus has done much for children, families

Iowa's children have had an important advocate in the state's Supreme Court. As chief justice, Marsha Ternus has made providing a better system for children and families in Iowa's juvenile courts her most important priority. Iowa's model, called “one judge/one child,” has been nationally recognized for its timeliness, effectiveness and better outcomes.
As a representative of Four Oaks, a non-profit organization that works with children and families in the welfare and justice systems, I can attest to the difference her leadership has made in the lives of foster and adoptive children.
Because of these critical improvements, Iowa's children and families are given a much better chance to succeed and Iowa is preparing for a much better future.
During these challenging economic times, our shared commitment to our most vulnerable citizens can become lost as they fall further behind. Ternus' court leadership and expertise in making Iowa's children and families a priority should be retained.
