Lois was born on July 21, 1932, in Wheaton, Ill., the daughter of Kenneth and Lena (McGinnis) McNiel. She graduated from Center Point High School. Lois worked for Bohemian Savings and Loan in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 35 years. She was an avid quilter and many babies, friends, nursing homes and organizations were the benefactors of her beautiful works. Lois also enjoyed reading, painting, growing violets, bus trips, entertaining friends and watching the Cubs. She was a member of Center Point United Methodist Church, Grand Chapter of Iowa Order of the Eastern Star, Federated Women's Club, Red Hats, Lovely Lane "Women and the Word" group, and many other organizations. Although health and life situations whittled away her ability to attend and participate in church functions, she always remained steadfast in her faith. Lois will be remembered as a loving and caring person who loved the community of Center Point.
She is survived by her cousins and many friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold E. McNiel; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be directed to The Order of Eastern Star.
