Gary Lee Thomas was born on Oct. 19, 1941, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Gordon and Mary Davis. He also has a twin brother, Lary Thomas. His mother later remarried to Al Thomas who adopted the twins when they were eight years old. Gary graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. He was employed by the Pepsi Cola Company for 13 years and by PDQ food stores until 1977. Gary transferred to Appleton, Wis., and then on to Colorado in 1978 where they have lived ever since.
Gary leaves his wife, Donna of 59 years; a daughter, Teresa (Brian) of Parker, Colo.; two sons, Rick (Jennifer) of Centennial, Colo., and Jeffrey (Lori) of Marion, Iowa; six grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Kati, Jake, McKenzie and Madison; four great-grandchildren, Grace, Dexter, Quintin and Cassadee; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was a gifted athlete growing up and very competitive at everything he did. He loved playing golf with family and friends, watching baseball, golf and football, caring for his cars and spending time with his family. His charismatic personality and wit always made people smile and laugh. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
