Powell, Janet
Janet Powell, 90, of The Meth-Wick Community / Meth-Wick Manor, formerly of Long Beach, Calif., died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Survivors include her nephews, Steven (Daniella) Ilten, Jay (Barbra) Ilten, Jeff (Terri) Ilten; one niece, Barbara (Marlan) Morse; and brother-in-law, Eugene Ilten.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; and two sisters, Jane Ilten and Anne Riemers.
Janet lived most of her life in Long Beach, Calif. She was a registered nurse and served in World War II and at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Long Beach.
Per her request, there will be no funeral and her cremains will be reunited with her husband in Long Beach. Memorials may be sent to the Glenn and Janet Foundation at The Meth-Wick Community / Meth-Wick Manor in Cedar Rapids.
