Reeves, Ruby Naomi Grimm
Ruby Naomi Grimm Reeves, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at the Vinton Lutheran Home from complications of age. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vinton with Pastor Mark C. Urlaub officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Ruby was born March 5, 1920, in Garrison, Iowa, the daughter of William and Fannie (Nelson) Grimm. She was raised and attended school in Garrison. On March 26, 1946, she married Raymond “Jack” Reeves in Dysart. Ruby and Jack lived in Garrison and Vinton and Ruby worked as a clerk at La Grange Drugstore for many years.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Vinton Eagles Club. In her spare time she enjoyed square dancing, camping and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Deena (Dan) Reeves Kuempel, Cedar Rapids; grandson, Andy (Sara) Kuempel, Marion; granddaughter, Caitie Kuempel, Iowa City; one sister, Marlys Higdon, Vinton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Jan. 19, 2010; six brothers and three sisters.
A memorial fund has been established.
