Jean Ann Recker, 67, of rural Delhi, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 24, 2014, peacefully in the arms of her husband after a 10-month battle with cancer.
Jean Ann was born July 15, 1946, in Manchester, the daughter of Joseph and Antoinette (Dingbaum) Pasker Sr. She attended St. Mary Catholic School and was a 1964 graduate of West Delaware High School. On April 23, 1966, Jean Ann was united in marriage to Richard Recker at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Three children were born to this union.
Jean Ann had various jobs over the years. Besides being a farm wife and mother, she worked at Schultz's Family Store in Manchester, Swiss Valley Creamery in Hopkinton and Peerless Chain in Manchester. For the past nine years, Jean Ann worked at Innovative Ag in Monticello until retiring in February due to health reasons.
Jean Ann and Richard loved to go dancing, following several area country bands. She loved spending time outside in her flower garden and traveling. Family was very important to Jean Ann, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard; three children, Brian (Janice) Recker of Dyersville, Lauri (Marty) Westhoff of Earlville and Charlene (Corey) Mathews of Urbana; five grandchildren, Brandon Recker, Rachael Recker, Cassandra Westhoff, Haleigh Mathews and Jordan Mathews; her siblings, Jerry (Jean) Pasker of Manchester, Ken Pasker of Manchester, Donna (Norman) Wiest of Tacoma, Wash., Carol Beaman of Manchester, Julie (Robert) Heims of Cedar Rapids and Joe (Dana) Pasker Jr. of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antoinette Pasker; parents-in-law, Julius and Dolores Recker; her sister-in-law, Paula Pasker; and brother-in-law, Kevin Recker.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Comfort and especially her nurse, Amanda, for all of her special care.

Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. A vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation also will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Earlville. Interment: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
