Marengo
Rachel E. Gerard, 87, of Marengo, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 2, 2014, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo, with the Rev.
Andrew Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
Rachel is survived by her son, Russell "Al" (Linda) of Marengo; four daughters, Sherry Kouba (Jon Dale) of Central City, Debbie Saunders (Rex) of Marengo, Becky Wiebold of Marengo and Kris Gerard of Marengo; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Hofmaster Siems; her husband, Russell Dean Gerard on Oct. 24, 1982; two brothers, Noel and Carroll Siems; two sisters, Mildred Siems and Wilma Landuyt; and two grandsons, Blake Saunders and Spencer Kouba.
