Gaffney, Gerald
Gerald Gaffney, 78, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Buchanan County Health Center, Independence. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Winthrop. Burial: St. Patrick's Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday and until 10 a.m. Saturday at Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop, with a Scripture service at 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife, Lois of Winthrop; two sons, Bob (Lisa) Gaffney of Oskaloosa and Scott (Kristie) Gaffney of Spokane Valley, Wash.; three daughters, Angela (William) Kearbey of Pleasant Hill, Roxanne (Mark) Skender of Chicago and Renae (William) Kanellis of Manchester; and 12 grandchildren.
Gerald worked for many years at Heabel's Lumber Co. and then Suburban Lumber Co. in Cedar Rapids.
