UPDATE: No serious injuries were reported after two separate crashes Friday morning on Highway 30 in Cedar Rapids.
Police responded around 7:40 a.m. to the wreck, which happened in the eastbound lanes between the Kirkwood Boulevard and C Street SW exits. A sport-utility vehicle and two cars sustained minor damage.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said a vehicle carrying at least four juveniles was in the initial crash. She said as they were being driven away in a different vehicle, they were involved in a second crash.
The right eastbound lane was blocked for tow trucks and emergency vehicles, causing a traffic jam.
Hamblin did not immediately have information about how many people were injured, but said the injuries were not serious.
All lanes of traffic were back open by 8:30 a.m.
