UPDATE: An Aplington man was seriously hurt when two semi-trailer trucks collided on Highway 30 in Tama County Thursday night.
The two trucks collided on Highway 30, just west of Highway 21, around 9:15 p.m. Thursday after one driver tried to slow down for a deer.
Dennis Roster, 48, of Aplington was taken to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo with serious injuries. Authorities say the other driver, Joel D. Heineman, 37, of Dunkerton, refused medical attention.
The Iowa State Patrol had to close off a portion of highway 30 near the Tama and Benton County line. The highway has since reopened.
