Fuchs, Juanita Theresa
Juanita Theresa Fuchs, 79, of 624 26th St. SE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Mercy Hallmar Residential Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father David O'Connor. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard; her children, James (Sandy) Fuchs, Michael (Sandy) Fuchs, David Fuchs, Carol (Bruce) Avis-Fuchs and Laura (Thomas) Knight; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Richard “Dick” Frye, Anna Mae “Maizie” Homan and Ruth Westbrook; many nieces and nephews; and her cousin, JoAnne Frye.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents.
Born July 10, 1932, in Dubuque, Iowa, Juanita was the daughter of George and Armella (Imhoff) Frye. In 1950, she graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic School. On Sept. 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Leonard Fuchs at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She retired from Aramark Rockwell Collins division.
Juanita was head of the Altar Rosary Society at All Saints Catholic Church and St. Ann's Circle and her joys were her family and cooking.
