ROBERT "BOB" M. WHITTERS

Robert "Bob" M. Whitters, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. David O'Connor. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be 5 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday at the church after 9:30 a.m.
Bob is survived by four brothers, Jerry, Duane, Jim (Jennifer) Sheldon and George Jr, (Julie); two sisters, Angelique Hiawa and Mary (Brad) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death his parents and brother, Donald.
Robert was born Feb. 20, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Dorothy Cousler Whitters. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1978. Bob worked at the Stop Off Bar and Goodwill Industries for many years.
Bob loved to eat, hang out and meet people at Starbucks and Lindale Mall. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Bob's family would like to thank the staffs of Dr. Thomas Warren, Dr. Kevin Carpenter, Dr. Suraj Bopanna, UnityPoint Visiting Nurses, Palliative Care and Amy Kofron for their kind and compassionate care.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
