Brian "Dink" Wittkop, 33, of Marion, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, conducted by Father David O'Connor. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Brian is survived by his wife, Catie, of Marion; parents, Tom and Janet Wittkop of Marion; brother, Tim (Noelle) Wittkop, and their son, Atlas; sisters, Brooke Wittkop and her fiance, Chris Dobel, and Jill (Kyle) Reeve, and their son, Elijah; father- and mother-in-law, Craig and Terry Eilbert of Marion; sister-in-law, Elyse (Jake) Shorez, and their children, Emerson and Lydia; and his grandfather, Clyde Schuttpelz.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Verna Wittkop, and Carol Schuttpelz; and nephew, Oliver Reeve.
Brian was born Oct. 2, 1983, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Tom and Janet (Schuttpelz) Wittkop. He graduated from Marion High School and Kirkwood Community College. On Sept. 10, 2011, Brian married Catie Eilbert. He worked at Thompson Truck and Trailer as a diesel technician.
Brian was a member of the North Linn Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He also enjoyed time spent with his friends and family. Brian loved his niece and nephews very much.
