Man arrested for stealing over $11,000 from ATM
Johnson County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Kalona man Tuesday for allegedly taking over $11,000 in cash from several ATMs.
Deputies arrested Shawn A. French, 29, in connection to a first-degree robbery incident.
Officers said French was responsible for depositing money into ATM machines at various locations for an unidentified employer between June 9 and July 6. Four different customers complained that the ATMs were short of cash.
An investigation found French was allegedly responsible for depositing the money into the machines.
Deputies said that during an investigative interview, French admitted to keeping $11,120 for himself.
As of Wednesday, French was in the Johnson County Jail being held on a $15,000 bond.
