Two men have been charged for allegedly shooting out vehicle windows with a BB gun along 34th Street NE in Cedar Rapids.
Travis G. Brown, 19, and Tyson M. Wimer, 25, both of Cedar Rapids, have been charged with second-degree criminal mischief. They are accused of shooting out six vehicle windows on Nov. 18 in the 500 and 600 blocks of 34th Street NE.
According to a criminal complaint, Brown and Wimer caused between $200 and $500 in damage. Both were arrested Friday night and taken to the Linn County Jail.
Police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Brown and Wimer will not be charged for the spree of vandalism on Dec. 1 in Cedar Rapids, when the owners of at least 17 vehicles reported damage overnight. No arrests have been made in that case, as authorities continue to investigate.
