Tom Angellotti, 49, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, after
a sudden illness, surrounded by his family.
Tom was born in July 1967, in Chicago Heights, Ill., to Thomas and Anna (Rio) Angellotti Sr. He was a 1985 graduate of Bloom High School and attended Iowa State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management. Tom married the love of his life, Kris Nelson, on Dec. 5, 1992, in Cedar Rapids.
At the time of his death, Tom was employed at UPS in Hiawatha. Tom's passions in life were his family, helping others and making people laugh. His sense of humor and his generosity were his greatest qualities and are what will be missed the most.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, woodworking, and a good poker game among great friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Anna.
Tom is survived by his wife; his daughters, Cara and McKenna; his stepmother, Ruey Angellotti; his brother, Tim (Karen) Angellotti, and their two children, Vinnie and Olivia; his brother, Bob (Betsy) Russo, and their daughters, Maredith and Emily; his mother-in-law, Mary Campbell; his sister-in-law, Shari (Todd) Lewison, and their children, Pete (Kelly) and Danny; his sister-in-law, Lisa (Doug) Johnson, and their children, Allie (Daniel) Grainger and Bradley and Lauren Johnson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins across the United States, as well as in southern Italy.
A visitation and celebration of Tom's life will be held Nov. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the family to be distributed later.
