Francis G. Mysak, 90, of Springville, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Jones Regional Hospital, Anamosa. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, at Squaw Creek Baptist Church, Marion, conducted by Pastors James Perry and Andy Saul. Burial: Springville Cemetery, Springville.
Francis is survived by his children, Mel Mysak and wife Nancy of Center Junction, Stephen D. Mysak and wife Mary of Marion, Sheryl Werderman of Anamosa, Marianne Lerch and husband Louie of Springville, Kevin Mysak and wife Tammy of Whittier, and Kent Mysak and wife Tammy of Springville; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Everett (Glenda) Mysak of Marion; and sister, Dorothy Loehr of Lisbon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, in 1999; parents; and seven siblings.
Francis was born Oct. 23, 1926, in Prairieburg, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Lola (Spindler) Mysak. On Dec. 11, 1948, in Iowa City, he married Lillian Norris. Francis worked as a heavy equipment operator until retiring in 1988. He also was a longtime school bus driver for Springville Community School.
