Tammy Jo Wellik, 49, of Cedar Rapids, passed away after a three-year-battle with ALS on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at her home. Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Father Mark Reasoner. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Justin Wellik of Cedar Rapids; sons, Brad (Jackie Meyer) Wellik Mediapolis, Cameron Wellik of Fairfield, Ohio, Shawn Wellik of Independence, Ky., and Tanner Wellik of Cedar Rapids; mother, Helen Walters of Ionia; siblings, Steve (Cathy) Walters of Milwaukee, Wis., and Connie (Kim) Witcraft of Charles City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Tammy was born Sept. 9, 1964, in Charles City,
Iowa, daughter of James and Helen (Salsbury) Walters. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1984, and then later went on to Capri Beauty School. On July 13, 1985, she married Justin Wellik in Charles City. She worked at the Hy-Vee Gas Station on Blairs Ferry Road from 2008 to 2013.
Tammy was a great wife and mother and had many special friends. She loved gardening, building flower beds, horses and enjoyed doing crafts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation.
