Julie Ann (Danford) Nightingale, 58, of Marion, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Visitation: 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Michael Hurn. Cremation will follow services. A private committal service will take place at a later date.
Julie was born July 3, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Duane H. and L. Sue (Hogan) Danford. She was formerly employed as a bus driver with NTS Transportation for several years. Julie was a loving, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her mother, L. Sue Lynn of Oskaloosa; daughter, Jennifer (Danford) Russell of Cedar Rapids; son, Kyle Brophy of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Teresa (Danford) Starr of Bothell, Wash., and Cindy (Danford) Kuehn of Snohomish, Wash.; brother, Randy Danford of Marion; grandchildren, Sierra Danford, Sydney McMillen and Jaden McMillen, all of Cedar Rapids; and great-grandchildren, Garson Lee Hiles Jr., Gaberioll Lee Hiles, Elisah Jawaun Bates and Antonio Jay Bates, all of Cedar Rapids.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Duane H. Danford.
