What are the three most important issues facing Iowans and our country, and how would you address them as a U.S. representative?

' Stagnant wages: I would like to raise the minimum wage to a living wage.

' Health care: With the privatization of Medicaid in Iowa and the disaster that has unfurled I would push for Single-Payer Medicare for All.

' Social and economic inequality. Make sure we elect the best candidates regardless of party who will work to represent the working class people of our country.

Do you support President Donald Trump's approach to trade and tariffs? Why or why not?

I do believe President Trump is right that we rely too much on China, but these tariffs will hurt Iowans and our farmers should not be used as cannon fodder.

What will you propose or support in Congress to protect and promote Iowa's farming economy?

We need to renew the farm bill ASAP.

What steps are needed to help grow and retain Iowa's workforce, especially in more rural areas?

Repeal right-to-work laws, and strengthen unions and accessibility to them.

Do you believe Congress should increase the federal minimum wage, currently at $7.25?

I do believe so. Our wages are well below living wages, and I would push for at least $15.

What steps are needed to control the rising costs of health premiums and health care?

We need to take the profit out of our health care system and move to single-payer.

What is your approach to immigration reform? What steps will you propose or support in Congress?

We need to ensure a clear path to citizenship for all immigrants.

If you are elected, what efforts would you make to listen to and include those who have political beliefs which don't match your own? How would you communicate with your constituents?

I believe that we are constantly learning as people, and as an elected official it isn't my job to act like I know the answers. I believe it is on our elected officials to listen and act.

Why are you the best candidate to represent this district in Iowa?

I don't take PAC money, I belong to no party, and my campaign is grassroots-driven and small-donation funded. My ties are to the people, not corporations or to a party.
